Al Jazira secured a valuable 4–2 win over Al Dhafra on Sunday evening at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Matchweek 9 of the ADNOC Pro League, climbing to third place in the standings.

Al Jazira made an excellent start, taking the lead in the 8th minute through Khalifa Al Hammadi, who headed home from a Jay Dee corner.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 20th minute when Vinícius Mello finished confidently following another assist from Jay Dee.

Al Dhafra reduced the deficit just before half-time as Johan Guðmundsson scored in stoppage time to keep the contest alive.

However, Al Jazira reasserted control in the second half, with Mohamed Elneny netting the third goal in the 67th minute.

Substitute Bruno de Oliveira added a fourth in the 77th minute to put the result beyond doubt.

Guðmundsson completed his brace with a late goal in the 85th minute, but it was not enough to deny Al Jazira a deserved win.

The result lifts Al Jazira to 17 points in third place, while Al Dhafra remain eighth with 12 points.
