A stoppage-time goal by Vinicius Mello secured a 1-0 win for Al Jazira at Dibba Al Hisn on Friday in matchweek 18 of the ADNOC Pro League.

It was a dramatic game at Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium as the Pride of Abu Dhabi missed a penalty kick in the 66th minute by Mohamed Elneny, before finding the breakthrough in the stoppage time to secure the three points and improve their hopes of a top-four finish.

The hosts fully controlled the game as they posed their first real threat to Dibba Al Hisn's goalkeeper after 25 minutes through a curling effort from a set-piece, but his shot went just wide.

Two minutes before the hour-mark, Midana Bigna missed a crucial chance for the visitors when he was teed up inside the box with a brilliant through pass, but his curling effort hit the right post.

Al Jazira were awarded a penalty kick in the 68th minute, but Suhail Ibrahim made a brilliant save of Mohamed Elneny's shot.

The referee pointed to the spot again for Al Jazira in the dying moments as Vinicius Mello stroked the ball into the back of the net after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to secure the three points for the hosts.

The win means Al Jazira sit fourth with 30 points, while Dibba Al Hisn are 13th with 10 points.
