Ali Mabkhout was back in the old routine with a devastating display of finishing, as Al Jazira secured an important 3-1 away win over Al Nasr in the final game of matchweek one of the ADNOC Pro League at Al Maktoum Stadium on Saturday.

The ADNOC Pro League's All-Time Top Scorer broke the deadlock and found the breakthrough in the 24th minute when he was teed up by Mamadou Coulibaly as the former brilliantly dribbled Al Nasr defense inside the box and curled a right-footed effort into the back of the net, to make it 1-0.

Al Jazira maintained their lead until halftime.

However, the second half saw a rejuvenated Al Nasr side.

Their first real chance arrived in the 53rd minute with a strike from Ahmed Abdalla Mohamad, but Al Jazira's goalkeeper Ali Khaseif made a critical save.

He was called into action again in the 56th minute, denying an attempt from Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini.

Mabkhout cemented his side's lead in the 73rd minute when Al Jazira were awarded a penalty kick after Al Ejandro Pozuelo was brought down inside the box by Al Nasr's defender Abdelaziz Mohamed Sanqour, prompting the referee to point to the spot.

Ali Mabkhout stepped up and drilled the ball into the top corner of the net, beating goalkeeper Ahmed Shambih.

K. Agudelo reduced the deficit for the hosts when he fired a superb long-range shot into the right corner of the net in the 79th minute.

However, Al Jazira had the last laugh.

In the dying moments, Spanish maestro Alejandro Pozuelo fired a powerful strike from outside the box, making him the inaugural Spaniard to score for Al Jazira in the history of the ADNOC Pro League.
