Al Jazira edged past Al Nasr with a thrilling 3-2 win at Al Maktoum Stadium on Sunday, securing a crucial three points in Matchweek 17 of the ADNOC Pro League.

The result lifts Al Jazira to fifth place with 27 points, overtaking Al Nasr, who drop to seventh with 26 points.

It also cements Al Jazira’s dominance over their rivals, extending their total league goals against Al Nasr to 67, with 31 scored at Al Maktoum Stadium.

Al Nasr started aggressively, pressing high and controlling possession.

However, Al Jazira struck first in the 22nd minute through Ramon Mierez, ending his goal drought since Matchweek 7.

Just before halftime, Mierez turned provider, setting up Nabil Fekir, who doubled the lead in the 41st minute.

The visitors extended their advantage in the 60th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse as Neeskens Kebano converted Fekir’s assist to make it 3-0.

Al Nasr responded with a penalty goal from Ali Mabkhout in the 71st minute, followed by an 81st-minute header from Glauber Lima, setting up a tense finale.
