Al Jazira came from behind to emerge 2-1 winners over Al Wasl in a thrilling encounter at Zabeel Stadium in matchweek 21 of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.

Al Wasl wasted no time and took an early lead when Ali Saleh pounced on a glaring mistake by Al Jazira's defenders and kept his composure before beating the goalkeeper with a smart finish into the back of the net.

The hosts had a golden opportunity in the 43rd minute to double the lead when Hassan Ibrahim Juma came close to adding the second goal with a powerful shot, but he saw his effort hit the crossbar.

Two minutes after the hour mark, Ali Mabkhou hit the equalizer and the 200th goal of his club career when was teed up by O. Traoré inside the box as the former brilliantly fired a right-footed strike into the back of the net, to make it 1-1.

In the 80th minute, Ashraf Bencharki secured the three points for Al Jazira when he met a brilliant cross from F. Tănase with a diving header into the top-left corner of the net.

The victory means that Al Jazira sits sixth with 37 points, while Al Wasl remains fourth with 40 points.
