Reigning champions Al Jazira returned to winning ways after pulling off a 3-0 away win against Emirates in matchweek 17 of the ADNOC Pro League at Emirates Club Stadium on Friday.

The Ras Al Khaimah based side started the game on the front foot and after only three minutes, Edarlyn Reyes had the chance to pull ahead when Joseph Gnado cut inside and made his way to the penalty area, before finding the Dominican who failed to tap the ball into the net from six yards out.

Reyes missed yet another chance to put his side ahead when he dribbled into the center from the left wing before firing a left-footed shot, which went over the post in the 35th minute.

Three minutes later, the visitors broke the deadlock when Salim Rashid sent a ball inside the penalty area from a corner kick which was met by Milos Kosanovic after Zayed Al Ameri initially missed it, with the Serbian launching a thunderous volley into the net.

Abdoulay Diaby doubled the scoring in stoppage time of the first half when Ali Mabkhout headed a high ball into his path, with the winger brilliantly dribbling inside the box before taking a low shot to the bottom right corner of the net to make it 2-0.

Nine minutes after the restart, keeper Abdulrahman Al Ameri made a brilliant save after Waleed Sabbar fired a powerful shot.

Ayman Al Ramady’s men kept soaking up pressure though, with keeper Suhail Ibrahim denying Kosanovic a brace after a well-taken free-kick close to the hour mark.

Four minutes from time, Zayed Al Ameri put the Pride of Abu Dhabi's lead beyond doubt, with a low free-kick from about 20 yards out into the bottom corner of Ibrahim's net to seal the victory.

Al Jazira now sit in fifth place on 29 points, while Emirates remain at the bottom of the table with only six points.
