Al Jazira vs. Emirates. ADNOC Pro League. Press Conference

Abu Dhabi: May 19, 2024

Al Jazira coach Gregory Dufrennes insisted that winning their Monday’s match against Emirates FC will be their way to overcome the defeat they suffered against Ajman in the previous round of the League.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, the coach said “Everyone was frustrated after the disappointing defeat to Ajman, but we are now in a better mental state and we are preparing well for the next match against the Emirates. We know that it will be very difficult because the opponent will fight fiercely to win the three points and gain some hope in the struggle to avoid relegation to the first division, but we will also fight and show a strong desire to win and return to winning ways. Our goal is still to end the season in the best way possible, and the way to do that will be to earn 9 points from the next three matches, starting with the match against Emirates tomorrow in our stadium and among our fans”.

Gregory promised to give some minutes to the substitutes and young players in the upcoming matches and said “There are some players who did very well with the reserve team and performed at a high level in training with the first team, they deserve the opportunity to appear with the starting lineup in the remaining matches of this season. One of them is Ali Al Mamari, who scored important goals in the reserve league and continued to train with the first team regularly. He will have a bright future with Al Jazira based on his individual and collective potential and I will be sure to give him, and the others, the opportunity when the time is right”.
