Abu Dhabi: Jan. 24, 2025
Al Jazira coach Lhusseine Ammouta promised that his team will overcome the disappointment of the recent loss in the League and shift their focus entirely to the President's Cup, specifically to the anticipated match between Al Jazira and Al Ain at Zabeel Stadium next Saturday.
Speaking to the club website ahead of the match, the coach said "The defeat we suffered against Shabab Al Ahli was disappointing because I believe we performed well but were unable to score despite creating some serious chances. We will overcome this disappointment and shift our focus entirely to the President's Cup competition, specifically our match against Al Ain in the quarter-finals. It is a crucial match that requires full focus and preparation from everyone to provide the best possible physical and mental performance."
The Moroccan coach added, "The time between our match against Shabab Al Ahli and the one against Al Ain is very short, so we will help the players recover and be in their best shape in preparation for Saturday's match. Some players are suffering from varying physical problems, and we will monitor the physical condition of the team over the next few days before we choose the players who will face Al Ain. In any case, we will field the strongest possible lineup because we want to reach the farthest stages in the President's Cup."
The coach sent a message to Al Jazira fans, saying, "I understand the fans' frustration due to the recent loss, but I am confident that they will be with us at Zabeel Stadium to support the team at all times and in all stadiums and against all opponents. We will work to present a better level in the next match, and I hope to celebrate with the fans after the end of the match with the victory and qualification."
Defender Zayed Al Zaabi insisted that Al Jazira is seeking to pass the quarter-finals of the President's Cup despite the difficulty of the match held in this round against Al Ain team.
He said, "All teams present in the quarter-finals of the President's Cup seek to qualify for the semi-finals, and Al Jazira is no exception. We will increase our efforts and focus and give our best to achieve this goal. Our next match is difficult and we will face a strong competitor, Al Ain, but we have confidence in our capabilities and in our ability to perform at a strong level that guarantees us a place in the semi-finals."
